Mission
Empowering young people to take care of their minds, bodies, and the people around them builds a foundation for lifelong learning. The Office of School Wellness Programs works with schools, districts, Central offices, and City and community partners so that all students have access to high-quality health education and physical education that meet New York State standards and requirements, as well as to programs that contribute to their health and well-being.
Vision
All New York City public school students will benefit from equitable, standards-based, high-quality health education and physical education that meet New York State Education Department requirements, and from opportunities to engage in related activities both in and out of the classroom.

Professional Learning
The Office of School Wellness Programs offers a wide range of professional learning opportunities for teachers, school administrators and staff, and members of School Wellness Councils. These include asynchronous courses, live webinars, and Citywide conference days. Many of these professional learning workshops and trainings are considered acceptable New York State Education Department Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE).
