Custodian Engineer Initiated Extended Use Permit

Custodian engineers may require the use of school buildings after 6 p.m. to perform maintenance and repairs. As in all cases requiring the use of the school building after 6 p.m., an extended use permit must be approved by the Principal or school-based designee in the Custodial Payroll System (CPS).  Your custodian engineer will provide a request for extended use to your designee when maintenance activities require these types of repairs.

Guidance on Submitting Custodian Engineer Initiated Extended Use Permits:

All repair and maintenance requests qualify as School Activities and will be funded centrally.

Step 1: For the "Activity" option, please select "School" instead of "Other."

Step 2: In the dropdown section "Nature of Event," please select "Maintenance/Repair."

Step 3: In the Permit Line Item section:

  • Ensure that "Special Services" is checked.
  • Indicate “Outside Contractor - FC” if there is an outside contractor.
  • Select “Alternate School Safety” in the School Safety Section.

Note: Rooms do not need to be entered.
