Survey Overview
We understand teachers are dedicated to supporting student success and continually improving their instructional practice. However, often the data available to guide that improvement lacks direct feedback from students.
New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) partners with Panorama Education to administer the Student Perception Survey, a confidential, research-based, and anonymous student survey used nationwide to provide teachers with valuable feedback from students about their classroom experiences.
The Student Perception Survey is for formative purposes only, and is NOT part of Advance, New York City’s teacher development and evaluation system.
2025-26 Student Perception Survey Administration
The administration window for the 2025-26 Student Perception Survey was December 8, 2025 to January 16, 2026.
The survey is now closed. Reports will be available in the Spring.
Post Administration Feedback Collection
With the Student Perception Survey window closed, the Surveys team would like to hear from survey coordinators and/or school administrators about their experience administering the survey. For this purpose, we invite you to join one of two listening sessions to share your feedback on what worked, what didn’t, and what you’d like us to do differently in the future.
Listening Sessions:
- Tuesday, January 27, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
- Thursday, January 29, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Taking Action
Panorama Education Playbook
The Student Perception Survey is a formative tool designed to guide instructional practice in the classroom and across schools. Along with the online survey reports, teachers and principals have access to the Panorama Education Playbook (Playbook), an online professional learning tool that helps educators to share practices and create a personalized playbook of instructional strategies based on their survey results.
